“Hidden Under Our Hats” National Brain Tumor Exhibit
H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute and the Neuro-Oncology Program are participating in the collection of hats from brain tumor victims and survivors for the national project titled “Hidden Under Our Hats.” This brain tumor exhibit represents people who have been affected by brain tumors.
These hats will be displayed around the Senate Garage Fountain in Upper Senate Park in Washington, D.C., every year for brain Tumor Action Week (first week of May). Throughout the year, this exhibit will travel to cancer centers all over the country. This is a powerful exhibit that will help to raise awareness and more funding for brain tumor research. This project was spearheaded by Kristina McAlvanah of the Brain Tumor Action Network and is sanctioned by the North American Brain Tumor Coalition (NABTC). Moffitt Cancer Center has donated 150 hats to brain tumor patients in our Neuro-Oncology Clinic.
