Research Interests:
Breast cancer has been Dr. Laronga's passion and obsession for many years. Her interests cover the entire range from bench basic science research to patient care (bench to bedside and back). Dr. Laronga's research involves creating proteomic profiles for different aspects of breast diseases (race; benign vs. cancer; genetic vs. sporadic breast cancer; etc.) Patient care revolves around diagnosing and treating breast cancer in a compassionate and cutting edge manner.
Clinical Interests:
1.Continuation of protein profile generation of various components of breast cancer with the hopes of developing earlier detection models, predictors or recurrences, failed response to therapy, and therapeutic targets.
2.Adding to the biorepository with breast era, nipple discharge, ductal lavage fluid and breast tissue.
3.Creating a breast database to assist in clinical and basic science research.
4.Continue to advance breast cancer diagnostics and treatment in patient practice.
