Educational Objectives

After reading this issue of Cancer Control, clinicians will be expected to:

  • recommend initial therapy for clinically localized disease,

  • provide a sound prognosis,

  • describe the major side effects of the commonly used initial treatments, and

  • prescribe antitumor interventions, both hormonal and nonhormonal, for patients with advanced disease.

Also, they will be able to recognize the symptoms and findings in carcinoid heart disease.
