Community organizations, businesses and individuals throughout the state and nation generously raise funds to benefit Moffitt Cancer Center through a variety of events and activities such as private parties, golf tournaments, fishing tournaments, auctions and car washes. Dancing With The Stars – Enjoy “Dancing with the Stars?” Julie Weintraub’s Hands Across the Bay is hosting “Tampa Bay’s Dancing With The Stars” on Saturday, Sept. 11, at Pepin Hospitality Centre, located at 4131 N. 50th St., in Tampa. Cheer on local celebrities in their quest for the championship! Tickets start at $75, and Moffitt Cancer Center is one of three beneficiaries of this event. Golf Tournament – Ryan Inc. will host its 4th annual Charity Golf Tournament on Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, at Tampa Palms Country Club, 5811 Tampa Palms Blvd. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The tournament will feature exciting contests, including closest to the pin and longest drive. Tampa Bay Buccaneers cheerleaders will make an appearance, signing autographs and taking photos. Foursomes are $500 and include greens fees, golf cart, range balls and lunch. KEY TO THE CURE – Saks Fifth Avenue will hold the annual KEY TO THE CURE shopping weekend from Thursday through Sunday, Oct. 21 -24, 2010. During the four-day event, Saks Fifth Avenue at WestShore Plaza donates a percentage of sales to benefit breast, ovarian, uterine and cervical cancer research at Moffitt.
