Moffitt Cancer Center is committed to raising awareness about cancer prevention and early detection through outreach in Puerto Rico. How do Moffitt's efforts benefit Puerto Rico?

Since 2006, Moffitt Cancer Center has been collaborating with cancer researchers in Puerto Rico to better understand how cancer is impacting the Hispanic community. The geographic proximity and large Hispanic population in the state of Florida and Puerto Rico have driven the creation of an academic partnership between Ponce Health Sciences University and Moffitt. The complementary expertise at both institutions provides a synergistic means of studying cancer in Puerto Rico.
