Swim Across America Tampa Bay presented a check for $180,711 on Wednesday to benefit Moffitt’s melanoma, sarcoma and adolescent and young adult programs.

"Our partnership with Swim Across America has been invaluable as we continue to combat this terrible disease," said Matt Kupec, Chief Executive Officer and President of the Moffitt Foundation. "We are appreciative of the swimmers, the volunteers and to the sponsors who help make this fundraising event a success. We look forward to the 2018 swim and local pool swims. Each dollar raised continues to move our mission forward – preventing and, hopefully one day, curing cancer."

During the course of their six-year relationship, Swim Across America has raised close to $1 million for research at Moffitt Cancer Center. These gifts have enabled researchers to generate an additional $2 million for funding research.
