Patients participating in a support group

Facing a cancer diagnosis takes courage. Sometimes, we need help in finding that courage. Moffitt recognizes that everyone can use some support as they travel through their cancer journey and that each person has individualized needs. That is why Moffitt offers a variety of programs to help you find your courage and cope with your diagnosis, treatment, and life that didn’t stop because you have cancer.

  • Social Work and CounselingMoffitt has an award-winning Social Work department that provides access to licensed oncology social workers to help you cope with the emotions a cancer diagnosis brings as well as the day-to-day needs (lodging, transportation, financial assistance) you may have.
  • One-to-One SupportSometimes it helps to talk to someone who has been there and been through it. Moffitt offers a pool of trained Patient and Family Advisors to talk to you about your experience from the perspective of a survivor. Moffitt has also partnered with Imerman Angels to ensure all patients have access to someone who has been there, including caregivers.
  • Support GroupsSupport groups are a great way to connect with others going through the same thing as you and find comfort, understanding and solutions.
