State College of Florida students at Moffitt Magnolia campus

The Department of Research Education and Training (RET) hosted a group of undergraduate students from the State College of Florida for a tour of the Moffitt Magnolia campus on March 22.

This event represents the beginning of a new partnership with the Tampa Bay Bridge to Baccalaureate program (TB-B2B), which is funded by the National Science Foundation, NSF. The TB-B2B program aims to increase the opportunities and resources available for community college students majoring in STEM, to encourage them to continue to a four-year degree after graduating with their associate degree.

The students toured the labs of Drs. Gina DeNicola and Alexander Anderson and attended an informal lunch with the RET team to discuss research opportunities and careers. A big thank you to Tasha Grant (Laboratory Operations) and Tony Neuger (Shared Resources) for leading the tours and to the faculty members for graciously volunteering their time.
