Melanoma and Non-Melanoma Clinical Trials
Clinical trials are important research studies that allow new medications and therapies to be evaluated and developed. These studies allow the safety and effectiveness of new medicines to be determined. Often this can involve comparing new, experimental treatments to those which are in current clinical practice. Occasionally, these studies involve a placebo (inactive treatment) to scientifically study the value of new approaches. Almost all of the drugs currently available to treat melanoma and other skin cancers have come from successful clinical trials.
