Moffitt Cancer Center offers an array of multiple myeloma support services for patients who have received an initial diagnosis, as well as patients seeking evaluation or a second opinion. Our Malignant Hematology Program includes a multispecialty team of medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists and other physicians who all specialize in the treatment of multiple myeloma. These specialists come together in a weekly tumor board to develop an individualized treatment and supportive care plan for each patient.

Here at Moffitt, we use state-of-the-art equipment to evaluate and treat multiple myeloma patients, and can provide numerous clinical services in:

  • Diagnostic imaging
  • Screening and prevention
  • Interventional radiology
  • Anatomic pathology
  • Hematopathology
  • Laboratory testing
  • Orthopedic surgery

And, because we understand that cancer can affect virtually every aspect of a patient's life, we support a holistic approach to treating all cancer patients, which is why we incorporate supportive care into each patient’s treatment plan. Our multiple myeloma support specialists help patients and their families in dealing with the many emotional, financial, spiritual and vocational issues that may arise with cancer treatment. Some of the other supportive care services that we offer to help our patients include pharmacy services, pain management, support groups and individual counseling, patient education, nutritional support and stress management services.

All of the multiple myeloma services and support options are available in one convenient location, and no referral is needed to consult with our physicians.
