Radiation therapy students rotate to the following areas during their clinical rotation at Moffitt: CT Simulation, Treatment, and Physics/Dosimetry. In CT simulation, students learn to perform scanner operations, set up patients, and create devices for immobilization. In the treatment area, students learn to set up patient treatments and match anatomy as well as learn how to operate the equipment.  In addition, they work closely with the radiation therapists in patient care. In the physics/dosimetry rotation, students are educated in the overall treatment planning process. They learn how the physics department takes the information gained during simulation and derives an individualized treatment plan for the patient. Students will perform multiple competencies when rotating through these areas of the radiation therapy department.
