Complex General Surgical Oncology (CGSO) Fellowship Match
Applicants to the 2024 Surgical Oncology Fellowship Match will submit applications and supporting documents through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). The SSO will not accept applications for the match. Applicants must request a Token from the ERAS Fellowships Documents Office (EFDO) prior to registering on MyERAS, beginning June 8, 2023.

| Application Opens | MyERAS will open for fellowship applicants to register and begin working on their applications on November 15, 2023. MyERAS opens for programs to review applications on December 6, 2023. |
| Application Deadline | The deadline to submit your application via MyERAS is January 15, 2024. No exceptions will be made. |
| Interviews |
Interviews will take place February 2, 2024 – May 28, 2024. SSO encourages CGSO Fellowship Programs to conduct in-person interviews during the CGSO program match but understands each individual program must make the choice that is best for their institution. There should be one declared approach at each institution, either entirely virtual or entirely in-person, but no hybrid combination of both approaches. SSO recognizes many programs prefer in-person interviews, however, there is no one-size-fits all approach and each program will need to decide what format best meets their needs and the needs of their fellowship candidates. |
| Rank Order List Entry (via NRMP) |
The Ranking Entry process will be conducted through the National Residency Match Program (NRMP®). Program candidates must register with the NRMP® (even if you have utilized the R3 system before). Please do this by going to Registration, Ranking, and Results® (R3®) system, using a unique email, username and password. Registration opens on March 20, 2024. Rank Order List Opens: April 17, 2024 Quota Changes Due: May 15, 2024 Rank Order List Deadline: May 29, 2024 |
| Match Results Announced | June 12, 2024 via NRMP |
| Fellowship Start Date | August 1, 2024 – Exceptions: University of Toronto, University of British Columbia, and McGill University start date is July 1. |
