can you survive stage 4 lung cancer?

Meet Charles

Lung Cancer Survivor

"I love everybody here: the nurses, the staff, right down to the housekeeper."

Charles was immensely scared when he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. As soon as he was told he had only six months to live, he began chemotherapy. But it was ineffective. A referral from his doctor brought him to Moffitt Cancer Center. At Moffitt, Charles received promising news: he was a good candidate for an immunotherapy clinical trial.

Charles says it took courage to enroll in the trial. In the back of his mind, he wondered if it would actually work. His worries turned out to be unwarranted. The immunotherapy treatment proved successful. Today, Charles is feeling well, enjoying outdoor activities and grateful to be in remission. "I'm still here, thanks to Moffitt."
