Liz's Story
Meet Liz
Breast Cancer Survivor Senior Director, Moffitt Organizational Development
"I felt confident that whatever was going to happen, I was going to be in the best care and best hands."
In the wake of her diagnosis, Liz turned to an inherited coping mechanism: humor. She began writing a blog in honor of "the girls," entitled Lucy and Ethel. Her blog compelled her to pay particular attention during appointments. That way she could share in detail what she was learning. Every step Liz documented: meeting her doctor for the first time, her fears about surgery and her assumptions about recovery. "The collateral beauty of the blog was that it helped others. It's important for me to tell my story."
