At Moffitt Cancer Center, we understand that many BMT CI patients face unexpected physical, emotional, psychological and social challenges as they transition from active treatment to survivorship.

All visits are available in person or via telehealth.

Who we are: We are part of your provider team from within the BMT-CI program at Moffitt Cancer Center. You may have met us at some point during your treatment journey. As part of the BMT-CI Survivorship clinic, we will work closely with your primary transplant and cellular immunotherapy physician, advanced practice providers (APPs), and nurses to coordinate your care and help you succeed.

What we do: We meet with you at certain points during your recovery and get to know your individual medical history and needs. We then tailor specific recommendations to help guide your medical monitoring and treatment throughout your life.

Why survivorship?: The treatments you received can lead to many side effects. Some of these side effects may take years to develop. Transplant or cellular immunotherapy and the therapies leading up to it can increase your risk for other cancers or chronic illnesses. Our survivorship program will work together with you and your primary medical team to develop a personalized care plan for long-term monitoring and health care.

Quality of Life Improvement

We focus on enhancing the overall quality of life for BMT-CI survivors. This may involve managing symptoms, optimizing nutrition and addressing other factors impacting well-being.

Early Detection and Intervention

Regular check-ups and screenings can help in the early detection of late effects or complications related to the transplant or cellular immunotherapy. Early intervention can improve outcomes.

Screening for Secondary Cancers

BMT-CI survivors may have an increased risk of developing secondary cancers. We make recommendations for long-term monitoring and screening, allowing for early detection and management.

Periodic Reassessment

In follow-up visits, we will review your care plan to accommodate changes in your health status, preferences or treatment options.
