Moffitt Cancer Center is one of 54 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the country and the only one based in Florida. The designation is bestowed upon institutions that have significant peer-reviewed research funding; high-quality programs in basic, translational and population research; are dedicated to developing more effective approaches to cancer prevention, diagnosis and therapy; educate health care professionals and the public; and reach out to underserved populations.
