Lung Cancer Metabolism P01: Identifying Metabolic Vulnerabilities in Lung Cancer
Our program project is focused on identifying metabolic vulnerabilities in lung cancer to therapeutically target this deadly disease. Part of the program project is focused on identifying cross talk between the immune system and metabolic pathways to enhance immunotherapy for lung cancer. Our team is composed of faculty members performing research on genes and pathways commonly altered in lung adenocarcinoma, lung squamous cell carcinoma and small cell lung cancer. With our cores, we are using cutting-edge technology to identify metabolic vulnerabilities in lung cancer. Our approach is to engineer unique and innovative mouse models and to use patient derived lung cancer samples to understand the metabolic pathways in lung cancer and to use this knowledge to effectively target and eradicate lung cancer.
