Overview
Jena Schmitz, DNP, APRN, FNP-C is a Nurse Practitioner in the Blood and Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Immunotherapy department Moffitt Cancer Center. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of Cincinnati and her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at the University of Florida. Jena has been practicing as a Nurse Practitioner at Moffitt since 2019, following six years of experience as a pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant nurse. She is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and licensed by the Florida Board of Nursing. She serves as the Co-Chair of the BMT APP Education Committee and was nominated as Moffitt's Advanced Practice Professional of the Year in 2023. Jena is also an active member of the American Society of Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (ASTCT), serving on both the Education and Research APP SIG Sub-Committees. Her clinical focus is the care of patients with hematologic malignancies undergoing stem cell transplantation and cellular immunotherapy in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
