Gayle is a Metastatic Neuroendocrine Tumor Cancer Survivor

Meet Gayle

Breast/Neuroendocrine Tumor Cancer Survivor

"I was participating in helping other patients."

Metastatic Neuroendocrine Tumor Diagnosis

"If you get a catastrophic diagnosis, what else are you going to do?" For Gayle that answer is simple, "you gotta keep fighting." After receiving her cancer diagnosis Gayle knew she had to fight by surrounding herself with knowledge and seeking out the experts. Her research brought her to Moffitt, "I liked how everything was so cohesive with all the doctors. And it wasn't just one doctor or two doctors treating you, but a collective."

Clinical Trials for New Cancer Treatments

Gayle's oncology team not only provided the expertise she was looking for but gave her personalized treatment options. This included an opportunity to participate in a clinical trial and receive one of the newest treatments and in turn help other patients in their fights. "Participating [in the clinical trial] was amazing because it eventually got approved, the medication that I was given during the medical trial is now approved and it's being given to patients." says Gayle. "So I think it's just fantastic that I was able to help in a small way to bring that particular medication to the forefront."
