Champions of Care: Meet Moffitt’s 2025 Nurses of the Year
Moffitt Cancer Center proudly celebrates its remarkable nurses through the annual Honored Nurse and Nurse of the Year Award Ceremony. This meaningful event recognizes outstanding contributions in nursing practice, leadership, and professional excellence. Modeled after an Olympic-style system, the ceremony features five categories: Inpatient, Outpatient, Partners in Patient Care, Perioperative, and Treatment Area. Nurses can earn silver, gold or platinum medals in each category. From these medalists, a committee of nursing peers selects the Nurse of the Year through a blinded, anonymous process, ensuring the winners remain a surprise until the moment of announcement. This year marks a milestone with 490 nurses receiving medals, the highest number in the program’s history.
