Attendees were treated to a special appearance by Stanley Cup Champion and Lightning alum Braydon Coburn, who greeted fans, posed for photos and even skated alongside them on the ice. Not to be outdone, Bolts mascot ThunderBug added smiles and energy to the rink.
“How often do you get a chance to skate where the three-time Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning compete?” said Merritt Martin, vice president of Public Affairs and Strategic Communications for Moffitt. “It’s an incredible experience and an inspiring way to support our patients.”
In its fourth year, Skate‑A‑Thon continues to grow as a cherished tradition in the Tampa Bay area. This year, community partners MOSI, The Florida Aquarium, Bright Horizons, Emerson and Friends, and Shake Shack joined the cause. From first‑time skaters to seasoned pros, the community showed up in full force, eager to rally behind Moffitt’s mission. The 2026 Skate‑A‑Thon was a celebration of hope and teamwork, making for a memorable day both on and off the ice.
