The Most Effective Treatment Starts with Early Detection

Lung cancer is one of the most common cancers in both men and women in the United States. But curing lung cancer is possible, especially in people with early-stage disease, which is why screening and thoughtful monitoring of any lung nodules is increasingly important. Moffitt offers both lung screening (most people with a smoking history over the age of 50 qualify) and lung nodule monitoring to help detect lung cancer as soon as possible.

Lung cancer causes more cancer deaths than breast, prostate and colon cancers combined. However, only 6% of those eligible are getting screened. We could save 60,000 lives a year if the 14.5 million Americans who are eligible got a lung screening.

Most people with a smoking history over 50 qualify for lung cancer screening. Moffitt's screening program is among the best in the nation and is available to all - no referral needed.
