The murine double minute 4 protein MDM4 binds and inhibits the kinase Ck1α, leading to the accumulation of β-catenin which is an oncoprotein. While Ck1α regulate the interaction of MDM4 and tumor suppressor p53, facilitating the proteasome degradation of p53 by ubiquitylation. Therefore, targeting the interactions of MDMX and CK1a are potential for curing cancers.
