Overview
Dr. Zabala Genovez is an Intensivist and Nephrologist who received his MD degree from the University of Guayaquil, Ecuador. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Loyola Medicine MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Illinois, followed by a Nephrology and Hypertension Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He then completed a Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Zabala Genovez’s clinical interests include Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) and extracorporeal therapies (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy aka CRRT, and other forms of dialysis).
His research interest focuses on hemodynamics and advancing the use of Critical Care Echocardiography in the ICU.
