Laura Barton, MA, MS, CGC

Laura V. Barton, MA, MS, LCGC is a licensed, certified genetic counselor specializing in inherited cancer risk, and she has been practicing as a genetic counselor at Moffitt since 2014. Laura completed her genetic counselor training at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia in 2012, and she worked as a prenatal and cancer genetic counselor at Greenwood Genetic Center in South Carolina following graduation. Laura also has a master’s degree in Bioethics and Medical Humanities from the University of South Florida, which was earned while she worked at Moffitt as a medical technologist from 2007 until 2010. She is certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling since 2012. Laura serves on the ethics committee at Moffitt and plays an active role in the genetic counselor training program at the University of South Florida as a clinical supervisor.
