Melissa Smith

Melissa Smith, vice president of Finance, joined Moffitt in 2005 and brings nearly two decades of experience across finance, clinical operations and research administration. She spent 13 years in Finance, supporting Research Finance and Financial Analysis, and later served four years as the Malignant Hematology Department administrator. Most recently, she served as senior director of Clinical and Research Integration, where she played a key role in developing the MAC physician practice.

Throughout her career at Moffitt, Smith has built strong, trusted relationships across clinical, research and administrative teams—an essential foundation for continued collaboration and financial stewardship. She holds an MBA from the University of South Florida, a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Florida State University and is a Florida‑licensed certified public accountant.
