Lung CancerShe has been a PA for over 30 years with experience in OB/Gyn, Family Practice/Urgent Care, Gyn Onc, and for the last 16 years she has worked in Thoracic Surgery at Moffitt Cancer Center. During her first 15 years at Moffitt she assisted in the preoperative evaluation of surgical patients, surgical resections, hospital rounds, and postoperative care. Currently she is expanding the Thoracic Surveillance Clinic to focus on the prevention of lung cancer occurrence and lung cancer recurrence thru diet and exercise, and making sure patients are up to date on all cancer and health screenings as well as immunizations. She is also interested in early detection of lung cancer thru Moffitt Cancer Center’s Lung Cancer Screening program for current and former smokers, and patients with pulmonary nodules. She has assisted in research on Pancoast Tumors, Nutrition Enhanced Recovery After Surgery, and Outcomes on Resected Limited Stage Small Cell and Mixed Small Cell /NSC Lung Cancer. She is also involved with research involving chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy and evaluates patients prior to receiving infusion. She helps promote Lung Cancer Education thru Moffitt Cancer Center’s LATTE Forum. She is a Prelude to a Cure Board Member, a volunteer group, that raises money for lung cancer research at Moffitt Cancer Center. In 2018 she was named Moffitt Cancer Center’s APP of the Year due to the outstanding team she works with in the Thoracic Oncology Department.
