    Study Title:

    Assessing the Prevalence of Disordered Eating and Exploring Physical Activity Preferences in Young Adult Cancer Survivors

    Summary:

    This observational study uses questionnaires to examine the prevalence and sociodemographic correlates of disordered eating-associated symptoms and concerns in adolescent and young adult cancer survivors.

    Objective:

    Aim 1. Examine the prevalence and sociodemographic correlates of disordered eating in adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer survivors (n=250). Aim 2. Examine the multi-level correlates of physical activity preferences in AYA cancer survivors (n=250) Exploratory Aim. Assess whether AYA cancer survivors experience barriers to healthcare access and explore whether healthcare access related barriers are associated with disordered eating and physical activity.

  • Inclusion Criteria

      Inclusion Criteria:
    • Diagnosed with cancer between the ages of 18 and 39
    • Able to read and speak English
  • Exclusion Criteria

      Exclusion Criteria:
    • Patients with severe cognitive impairments, defined as having a head injury in the past year, will be excluded.
