    Study Title:

    Distress in Family Caregivers of Inpatients with Malignant Hematology Diagnoses at Hospital Discharge

    Summary:

    The purpose of this Study is to assess the caregiver burden in family caregivers of adult inpatients with malignant hematology diagnoses at hospital discharge, and to compare family caregivers’ burden scores at hospital discharge of patients admitted for chemotherapy treatment versus symptom management.

    Objective:

    The primary aim is to assess the distress in family caregivers of adult inpatients with malignant hematology diagnoses at hospital discharge. The secondary aim is to compare family caregivers distress scores at hospital discharge of patients admitted for chemotherapy treatment versus symptom management.

  • Inclusion Criteria

      Inclusion:
    • Family caregiver of adult inpatient with malignant hematology diagnosis.
    • Able to read, speak, and understand the English language
    • Age 18 years and older
    • Discharged to home
  • Exclusion Criteria

      Exclusion Criteria:
    • Non-malignant hematology diagnoses
    • Inpatient status is observation or short-stay . Cognitively and/or psychologically impaired caregiver
    • Discharge to an external healthcare facility
