    Study Title:

Evaluation of a Possible Association with Skin Microbiota and Primary Cutaneous Melanoma

    Summary:

This study will focus on determining a potential association with skin microbiota and melanoma through collecting swabs at primary cutaneous melanoma and contralateral non-melanoma sites. Investigators will construct taxonomic profiles and evaluate potential community diversity at melanoma and non melanoma sites.

    Objective:

Assess skin microbiota profiles comparing cutaneous melanoma site versus contralateral normal skin via skin swabs Apply computational approaches for microbial genome annotation, phylogenetic placement, and comparative genomics to reconstruct microbial communities and intra- and interspecies dynamics in a community. To assess if demographic, co-morbidities, or clinicopathological profiles significantly contribute to skin microbiota diversity and dysbiosis
