I am Dr. Debojit Bhattacherjee, a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Uwe Rix's lab at Moffitt Cancer Center, USA. My current research interest focuses on fragment-based drug discovery by utilizing chemoproteomics as a prime technique for target identification and validation of small molecules across various cancer types. In 2022 (Dec), I completed my PhD research at the Department of Chemistry and Centre for the Environment, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India, under the supervision of Dr. Krishna P. Bhabak. The primary focus of my Ph.D. thesis was to design and synthesize different series of organohalogen compounds (potent sources of H2S) and investigate their anti-cancer activities and the H2S signaling profiles in the triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) model. My Ph.D. thesis was ‘Benzylic Organosulfides and Analogues: Greener Synthesis, Anti-cancer Activities and the Feasibilities of H2S Donation’.
