I received the Bachelor and Master degrees in Zoology from the University of Delhi, India after which I embarked on my doctoral research at CSIR- Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, India and was awarded the PhD degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, India in 2019. My doctoral research focused on the role of natural bioactive compounds in ameliorating the toxic effects of chemopreventive agents and enhancing their therapeutic efficacy in inhibiting cancer proliferation. Thereafter, I worked as a research scientist in a National Taskforce project funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research at the National Institute of Cancer Prevention and Research (Noida, India) which aimed at the identification and characterization of the microbiota associated with smokeless tobacco products and the buccal mucosa of its users. I joined Dr Antonio Amelio’s lab in Moffitt Cancer Center in 2022 and currently we are investigating the effects of PLOD2-mediated collagen stability on the tumor immune microenvironment and tumor progression in oral squamous cell carcinoma.
