Champion, MD, FACS is a board-certified general surgeon with fellowship training in Breast Surgical Oncology at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa, FL. This advanced training focuses on the multidisciplinary approach to managing breast cancer, utilizing the latest innovations and treatment modalities available. Dr. Champion graduated from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, with Honors, and completed his general surgery training at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University/Northwell Health in Staten Island, NY.
His research interests are in developing new treatment modalities for breast cancer, improving surgical outcomes in breast surgery, as well as breast cancer survivorship and lymphedema prevention. His mission is to help patients navigate the complex and multifaceted fight against their breast cancer with the goal of delivering excellent patient-centered care. As an Oncoplastic breast surgeon, Dr. Champion strives to improve surgical and cosmetic outcomes, merging plastic surgery principals with standard of care breast surgery procedures.
