Health Education

The Office of Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) provides the community with educational opportunities for cancer awareness and prevention. Presentations can be modified to meet the needs of the community. Each workshop, presented in either English or Spanish or Haitian Creole, is led by a community health educator or a community outreach worker. Presentations typically range from 30 to 60 minutes.

Let go of all your fears, shame, guilt, doubt or any other feelings you have about yourself. Are you scared of losing your identity? You just might surprise yourself and really like the new and healthier you!

Evidence-based research has proven that by combining tobacco cessation support and pharmacotherapy the odds are increased for a person to quit smoking successfully. Through outreach efforts, COE seeks to maximize community impact by increasing accessibility of tobacco cessation support and navigation for all individuals and especially for those in underserved communities. The COE team will compassionately engage with you wherever you may be on your smoking cessation journey. Everyone’s path is very different. Here at the TOUCH program, we offer a variety of support and navigation styles.

Forever Free: If You Vape® Program

This 10-booklet version of Forever Free® addresses the special needs and circumstances of smokers who also vape. Because many individuals start vaping to quit smoking, but some are unable to quit and concurrently use both products, these booklets were developed to help them transition to exclusive vaping and eventually be completely nicotine free.
