Does Medicare Cover Moffitt?

Yes, Moffitt Cancer Center accepts Medicare, but what’s covered and how much you pay depends on the type of plan you have.

  • Original Medicare (Parts A & B): Accepted by most hospitals and doctors, including Moffitt. You can add a Medigap plan to help with out-of-pocket costs and a Part D plan for prescriptions.
  • Medicare Advantage (Part C): These private plans combine hospital, doctor, and sometimes drug coverage. Each has its own provider network and rules. Always confirm that Moffitt and your preferred physicians are in-network before you enroll for 2026.

If your plan is ending or changing, you’ll receive an Annual Notice of Change. Review it carefully. It outlines what’s different next year. If your plan is discontinued, you can switch to another during a Special Enrollment Period without losing coverage.

What’s Changing in Medicare for 2026

This year’s open enrollment may feel more confusing than usual. Across the country, Medicare Advantage and prescription drug plans are going through big shifts. Here’s what to keep in mind:

    • Some plans are disappearing. Several major insurers are cutting back plan options.
    • Networks are tightening. Some plans are moving from PPOs to HMOs, meaning fewer out-of-network options.
    • Extra perks are shrinking. Things like grocery cards, fitness benefits, and transportation programs may be reduced.
    • Prescription coverage is changing. Drug lists, copays, and deductibles may look different next year. Check your plan’s formulary.

All of this means it’s worth taking time to compare plans. What was the best choice last year might not be the best fit this year.
