At Moffitt Cancer Center, the procedure is performed by a surgeon who specializes in liver surgery and is trained in robotic surgery with the utilization of the da Vinci^® surgical console to remove a cancerous growth from the liver. The system’s instruments are small, with high degrees of rotation, wrist motion, tactile feedback and enhanced visualization capabilities, enabling highly complex surgeries to be performed through small incisions. This allows for significantly faster recovery times for our patients with shorter hospital stays without compromising the quality of the operation.
