A Renowned Lung Cancer Screening Program Within Driving Distance of Venice, FL
Moffitt Cancer Center – a Lung Cancer Alliance-Designated Screening Center of Excellence located in Tampa, Florida, which is north of Venice – provides comprehensive screening services to individuals who have an elevated risk of developing lung cancer. Moffitt’s renowned program offers not only traditional screening options, such as high-definition CT scans and clinical examinations, but also risk reduction counseling and preventive care services, such as smoking cessation programs.
As part of our commitment to improving patient outcomes and quality of life one individual at a time, Moffitt offers comprehensive lung cancer screening services to anyone who is considered “at-risk” based on current best practices. This includes individuals who are:
- 50 years of age or older
- Current or former smokers with a 20-pack year smoking history (pack year = total # of years smoked X # of packs smoked per day)
Individuals may also wish to consider lung cancer screenings if they also have another known risk factor, such as a family history of lung cancer, prior occupational carcinogen exposure or a personal history of COPD.
Moffitt’s screening services are available in three locations, each of which is about 90 minutes away from Venice. Patients can visit Moffitt Cancer Center, Moffitt Cancer Center at International Plaza or Moffitt McKinley Outpatient Center to consult with our experienced lung cancer screening team regarding their options.
Physicians’ referrals are not required for lung cancer screening at Moffitt. To request an appointment at any of our locations, residents of Venice, FL, can call 1-888-663-3488 or submit a new patient registration form online.
