Curriculum
The program excels in providing a high volume of complex, multi-site and multi-modality oncology cases. Training is enhanced by diversely focused lectures, educational sessions and journal club presentations. Fellows participate in weekly interdepartmental multidisciplinary tumor boards and play a key role in teaching radiology residents and medical students.
Rotations
Depending on their clinical interests, fellows will rotate through core specialties in the Moffitt Radiology Department: Body Imaging, PET/CT and SPECT/CT with novel agents and theranostics, Musculoskeletal Imaging and Neuroradiology to enhance their expertise in various aspects of oncologic imaging. Vacation and elective time will be provided.
Research
A key highlight of the program is specialized training in cancer staging and response assessment (RECIST and iRECIST) and assessment for NIH research trials. Depending on the fellow's interest in academic activities, opportunities for clinical research will be provided.
Imaging Innovation and Excellence
Train at Florida's only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, where premier mentorship and a vibrant Tampa setting provide all-around training to develop next-generation experts in oncologic imaging. Our flexible, multi-concentration fellowship offers exposure to complex cases, urgent care imaging, transformative research and dynamic multidisciplinary collaboration. Fellows actively participate in tumor boards, gain hands-on experience in clinical trial reporting and engage with prominent radiology societies. The program also offers a distinctive short rotation in AI imaging fundamentals and extended applications, developed in collaboration with the Machine Learning Department.
Career Development and Recruitment
Exceptional fellows may be considered for faculty positions based on their qualifications and career goals. IMG candidates on the alternate pathway may also be evaluated for employment opportunities during or after fellowship completion. The program provides fellows with the skills, experience and mentorship needed to launch a successful and fulfilling career in academic, private or hybrid practice settings.
