We offer limited number of clinical experiences for oncology interested internal medicine trainees to enhance their knowledge and experience in the subspecialty.

Eligibility:

  1. Must be currently enrolled and in good standing in an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program.
  2. Hold a current valid medical license in the state of their residency program.
  3. Hold valid American Heart Association approved ACLS AND BLS certification through the entirety of the rotation.
  4. Current IM Residency program must cover all benefits and salary including liability or malpractice insurance during the visiting rotation.
  5. Must obtain a Florida Medical Training (TRN) license from the Florida Board of Medicine prior to the start of rotation.
  6. Must clear all onboarding and background screenings for the University of South Florida AND Moffitt Cancer Center prior to the start of rotation.
  7. Rotation should be at least four weeks in length.

How to request visiting rotation:

  1. Requests are only accepted in the last week of July, no later than August 1, due to the University of South Florida GME moratorium from March 1 through July 31.
  2. Email the Hematology/Medical Oncology Fellowship Program Administrator, Martin.Kramer@Moffitt.org, the following information:
    1. Send current no-gap CV with dates listed by month and year. (Gaps greater than 30 days must be explained in brief).
    2. Specific desired start and end date of rotation.
    3. Desired interest area: Malignant Hematology or Solid Tumor.
    4. Institutional email of current training Program Director and Program Administrator.
  3. Note it can take up to four months to clear requirements depending on the responsiveness of the trainee and their home institution to execute the required legal agreements with the University of South Florida.
  4. Trainees will be notified within the first week of August of program approval with follow-up instructions.

These rotations are clinical only. All expenses, including but not limited to travel, ground transportation, lodging, meals, parking, application and medical board fees, are the responsibility of the visiting trainee.
