Honoring Excellence: Moffitt’s 2025 Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician of the Year
Each year, Moffitt Cancer Center’s Pharmacy Excellence Awards celebrate the dedication and expertise of its pharmacy professionals. Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians play a critical role in providing the highest quality of care to patients, ensuring that medication therapies are both safe and effective for each patient’s unique treatment plan. The pharmacy team also works directly with the primary health care team, rounding with physicians, planning with nurses, coordinating with the lab, facilitating research and providing patient and staff education.
Among the many outstanding professionals recognized, two individuals stood out for their extraordinary impact: Samantha Price, Pharmacist of the Year and Donna Banks, Pharmacy Technician of the Year.
Pharmacist of the Year: Samantha Price

Compassionate, detail-oriented and deeply dedicated to patient safety, Samantha Price is known as a trusted and steady presence within the Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Immunotherapy team.
Price proactively enhanced transplant safety by editing patient education handouts to automatically populate conditioning regimen dates, significantly reducing medication entry errors. Beyond her clinical expertise, she’s admired for her calm leadership and dedication to mentoring others, always taking the time to support colleagues and help patients understand complex details with patience and compassion.

Pharmacy Technician of the Year: Donna Banks

Known for her reliability and problem-solving spirit, Donna Banks exemplifies what it means to go above and beyond in service of patients and colleagues alike.
Bank’s dedication shines in moments of challenge, staying until issues are resolved and answering calls even when she’s off duty to ensure continuity of care. Her responsiveness and commitment to excellence have made her an integral part of pharmacy operations.
Colleagues praise Bank’s ’s tireless commitment to upholding Moffitt’s values of compassion and excellence, noting, “She works closely with multiple sites, guiding teams through delays and ensuring patient care is never compromised.”
Her dedication reflects not only professional excellence but also a deep personal commitment to Moffitt’s mission to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer.
