USF President Joins Moffitt Cancer Center’s Institute Board of Directors
TAMPA, Fla. — Moez Limayem, Ph.D., president of the University of South Florida, has joined Moffitt Cancer Center’s Institute Board of Directors. Limayem brings more than 35 years of higher education experience to advancing academic excellence, student and faculty success, research and innovation, and community engagement.
“Moez is an exceptional leader whose commitment to innovation, talent development and community impact will help drive Moffitt’s mission forward,” said Tim Adams, chair of Moffitt’s Institute Board of Directors. “His experience in higher education, research collaboration and strategic partnerships will strengthen our ability to meet the growing needs of patients across Florida and beyond. We look forward to the vision and energy he will bring to Moffitt.”
Limayem is USF’s ninth president and took office in February 2026. Previously he was the dean of USF’s Muma College of Business for a decade before he took the helm as the University of North Florida’s president in 2022.
He recently was inducted into the Florida Council on Economic Education’s First Coast Business Hall of Fame, and the Tampa Bay Business Journal included him as one of the “25 People to Watch” in 2026 and “2026 Power 100.” He earned his MBA and doctoral degree from the University of Minnesota, and he has held academic leadership roles at the University of Arkansas and internationally.
