    For twenty-five years, Michael served as a CEO at Academic Medical Centers and multi-state health systems. He received the “Excellence in Teaching Award” from the Department of Health Services Administration at the University of Florida on four separate occasions. Beginning in 2010, he designed and launched a new, online graduate program in Health Informatics at Kent State University. In 2013, he was honored as “Friend of the Year” by the School of Information at Kent State. In addition to his service on Moffitt’s Hospital board, Michael serves as Board Chair for the PARC Center for Disabilities. He currently teaches Health Informatics students at USF and AI classes at two lifelong learning institutes at Eckerd College. He obtained his B.A. degree in Political Science from Binghamton University and a Master of Health Administration degree from the University of Michigan.

    Joe Caballero is a Managing Member of EROC Advisors, LLC., a corporate strategic advisory firm. He has held various leadership roles, including Tampa Bay Market President and EVP for Seacoast Bank, and CEO, President, and Director of GulfShore Bank and GulfShore Bancshares, Inc.     Roland Daniels’ automotive career began in 1985 when he entered General Motors’ dealer development academy. In 1991, he helped to open one of Saturn’s first dealerships in South Florida and in 1995 became the first Saturn storeowner in North Central Florida. Roland opened Daniels Chevrolet in Tampa in 2012. He has received numerous honors and awards, including 2007 General Motors Dealer of the Year, Jack Smith Leadership Award, and 2003 Time Magazine Quality Dealer Award, to name a few. Roland has served on the boards of Shands HealthCare, University of Florida Board of Trustees, Wachovia Bank Advisory Board and United Way of North Central Florida. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Howard University and is an active member of Kappa Alpha Psi and Sigma Pi Phi fraternities.

    Dr. Davis is an experienced healthcare system executive that has been the lead executive in multiple states in the largest non- profit system in the US. Responsibilities include strategic planning, quality and patient safety, financial performance, and ensuring that the organization’s achievements are in alignment with the mission of caring for the poor and vulnerable. She is a registered nurse with a passion for creating a culture of safety and exceeding patient expectations. Dr. Davis recently joined the faculty at Sacred Heart University’s doctoral program.

    Valerie Goddard is the CEO and Chief Strategist of The Goddard Group, a consulting firm that supports organizations specializing in education, healthcare, and community development. Valerie has served in executive leadership roles for the Department of Defense, higher education institutions, healthcare, and nonprofit organizations for more than two decades. Valerie was a gubernatorial appointee to three Florida governors and is a past chair of the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County. In addition to her work with the Goddard Group, Valerie advocates for under-resourced communities and vulnerable populations. Valerie is a founding member of Moffitt’s George Edgecomb Society, which ensures equitable health outcomes and the elimination of cancer health disparities in Black communities. She actively partners with various stakeholders to expand opportunities and improve access to vital resources to improve health outcomes and overall quality of life.

    Bill Horton is a retired senior healthcare executive. After six years in adult healthcare, Bill began his career in pediatrics at All Children’s Hospital, serving thirty-four years in various senior executive roles. He retired in 2015 as a senior vice president/ corporate officer, and vice chair of the health system. Highlights include developing the first and largest, employed pediatric specialty practice plan on the west coast of Florida, and leading the integration of All Children’s into the Johns Hopkins Health System. Bill’s first opportunity to learn about Moffitt came through the establishment of a pediatric affiliation agreement in support of All Children’s bone marrow transplant program. Moffitt’s commitment to the children of Tampa Bay, as well as to quality, clinical excellence, and access expansion made the opportunity to serve Moffitt in a board capacity an honor and privilege. Bill received his undergraduate, graduate education and training from Temple University’s Fox School of Business and completed his healthcare administrative residency at Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia.

    Beth Houghton is CFO of HW Properties Ltd., a family real estate investment and management company. Until July 2025, she served for six years as CEO of the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County. The 80-year-old Juvenile Welfare Board, with an impact budget of $126 million, is a special taxing district that programs and funds services for children. Previously, she was the CEO of the St. Petersburg Free Clinic, a caring organization helping to meet basic, unserved human needs through resources, volunteers, and advocacy. Beth is an accomplished lawyer and accountant, while devoting her life to public service through various non-profit organizations. She has received over a dozen prestigious awards for community service. Beth holds a JD from Stetson College of Law, a Master of Business Administration from Tulane University Graduate School of Business, and a Bachelor of Art in economics and political science from Newcomb College of Tulane University, all with honors or highest honors.

    Mary Anne Hyer is a founding shareholder in the firm of Reilly, Fisher & Solomon, P.A. Previously, Mary Anne was a partner in the Tampa office of Arthur Andersen LLP where she began working in 1978. In 1994, she assumed the leadership of Andersen’s Central Florida tax practice and was also responsible for their Florida Federal Business tax practice.     Jackie Lewis, with her late husband, Robert, developed Marquette University’s Les Aspin Center for Government, a Congressional internship program and academic center established blocks from Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. From that program, they founded WISH LLC, - Washington Intern Student Housing – an organization assisting interns with housing, placement and connections with government agencies and students. Previously, Jackie spent 22 years as a teacher in New Jersey and Michigan. She then became involved in politics and was the chair of the Michigan Republican Party, co-chair of the 1980 Michigan campaign for President George H.W. Bush and vice chair of the Michigan Republican Party. Jackie has received numerous awards recognitions for her dedicated service in education, politics, and non-profit organizations.

    Jennifer (Jenny) Moffitt is an associate professor of English at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. Before joining the faculty at Florida Southern in 2017, she taught for seven years at Florida State University, first as a graduate student and then as a visiting lecturer. Her research and teaching interests include U.S. literature, visual culture studies, and theory. Jenny is the recipient of the Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) Teacher of the Year Award, the J. Russell Reaver Award for Outstanding Dissertation in American Literature or Folklore, and the Bryan Hall Award for Excellence in Teaching First-Year Composition. She holds a B.A. in English from Appalachian State University, a M.A. in Literature from Humboldt State University, and a Ph.D. in Literature from Florida State University.

    Mark Pizzo is a retired United States Magistrate Judge with the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida from May 1995 until July 2018. A Tampa native, Mark received his B.A. and J.D. degrees from Loyola University, New Orleans, Louisiana. He was awarded the Federal Bar Association’s George C. Carr Memorial Award for excellence in federal practice and distinguished service to The Federal Bar, and he is a master and organizing member of the Herbert G. Goldburg – Ronald K. Cacciatore Criminal Law Inn of Court. In addition to serving on Moffitt Cancer Center’s Hospital and Moffitt Medical Group Boards, Mark is also actively involved in Moffitt’s Patient and Family Advisory Council.

    Kevin Plummer became the 7th Head of Tampa Preparatory School in July 2007. Kevin is deeply rooted in the Tampa community where he serves on the Executive Advisory Council for MUMA College of Business at the University of South Florida as well as immediate past Chairman for the Tampa Downtown Partnership. He also serves on the boards for the National Endowment for Financial Education, WEDU, Friends of the Riverwalk, Tampa Theatre, Straz Center for the Performing Arts and the Tampa Downtown Partnership Executive Steering Committee.     Nick Porter served most recently as a senior advisor with the THEO Executive Group who builds strong cultures of excellence with senior executives of medical and academic institutions. From 1988 to 2011, Nick was with the Moffitt as its COO, CEO and then as Executive Vice President for institutional advancement and corporate relations. Prior to joining Moffitt, Nick was COO and CEO of Johns Hopkins Hospital. Currently, Nick is a Board member at large on AMIkids as well as chair of their audit committee and member of their Executive committee. Nick has served on the board of trustees for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network; as well as Chair of the executive committee of the Alliance of Dedicated Cancer Centers; the finance committee of the Association of American Cancer Institutes, among other community boards.     Hal Walker began his four decades of uniformed service as a U.S. Military Academy Cadet at West Point in 1976 and ended as Command Surgeon/Senior Medical Officer for U.S. Special Operations Command in 2016 at MacDill AFB. Hal held significant roles as Special Ops Europe Command Surgeon, USSOCOM Clinic Commander and 12th Aviation Brigade Flight Surgeon in Germany, which included a year-long combat deployment in a key unit of the Operation Iraqi Freedom initial invasion force. He holds numerous awards/decorations, including Master Army Aviator, Master Army Flight Surgeon and Navy Dive Medical Officer, to name a few. He earned his M.D. from Thomas Jefferson Medical College and completed Residency and Board Certifications in Aerospace and Dive Medicine at Naval Air Station Pensacola. He holds an M.P.H. from the University of Texas and a Master of International Affairs from California State University.
