The Department of Neuro-Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center accepts inpatient transfers from community emergency departments for patients with suspected benign or malignant brain tumors requiring timely neurosurgical oncology care.

Neuro-Oncology Program

Neuro-oncology is a medical specialty focused on the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of brain and spinal cord tumors, along with managing the neurological side effects of cancer and cancer treatments.

Physicians trained in neuro-oncology include neurosurgeons, neurologists, medical oncologists, pathologists, neuro-radiologists and radiation oncologists. Together, we develop individualized treatment plans that may include:

  • Chemotherapy
  • Radiation therapy
  • Immunotherapy and gene therapy
  • Minimally invasive cranial and spinal surgery
  • Complex awake craniotomies
  • Stereotactic radiosurgery for brain and spine tumors
