Applicants for the Adult Volunteer Program must be 18 or older and not enrolled in any college or university as a full-time or part-time student.  

In order to apply for the Adult Volunteer Program, applicants should: 

  1. Attend mandatory virtual information session. Information sessions are held the last Tuesday of every month, from 10am – 11am. Click here to attend the Information Session.
  2. Complete the online application
  3. Attend a mandatory virtual orientation session
    Orientations are held on Mondays via Zoom from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. (including a break for lunch from around 12:30 p.m. – 1 p.m.)
  4. Complete a virtual self-guided Volunteer Services Orientation
  5. Attend a health screening and be cleared by Occupational Health 
  6. Pass a background check

Placement is based on application submission order and availability. Our goal is to meet the needs of the cancer center and at the same time, ensure that each volunteer’s time is well utilized and that you enjoy your volunteer assignment. However, volunteers are scheduled for assignments based on the priority needs of the organization and availability.
