Chip Fletcher, Esq.

General Counsel

Chip Fletcher, Esq., serves as Moffitt’s general counsel, leading the cancer center’s legal and government relations teams. He joined Moffitt in 2018 as vice president, deputy general counsel. In addition, he provided legal and government relations support for the cancer center while at the law firm of de la Parte & Gilbert, P.A., from 1997 through 2006.

Prior to joining Moffitt, he was the Hillsborough County attorney, where he represented the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners and managed the county legal department of 60 lawyers and support staff. Fletcher was also the city attorney for the city of Tampa from 2008 through 2011 and served as a member of the Tampa City Council from December 2006 through March 2007.

Fletcher was in private practice with GrayRobinson, P.A., and Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, where he represented private and public clients before federal, state and local governmental agencies. Early in his career, he also served as a policy analyst for the Florida House of Representatives.  

Fletcher is board certified in state and federal government and administrative practice. He earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Florida State University College of Law and holds a Bachelor of Science in environmental engineering from Florida Institute of Technology.
