Moffitt Cancer Center's comprehensive Breast Oncology Program offers fellows in the Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship a dynamic, collaborative learning environment, with breast surgical oncology and medical oncology faculty working closely together. This structure provides fellows with valuable opportunities to learn from multiple disciplines while developing the knowledge and skills needed for a career in breast surgical oncology.
The Moffitt Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship adheres to the SSO curriculum guidelines. The three breast fellows complete the one-year fellowship, having met all SSO-anticipated metrics for graduation.
In addition to Moffitt’s mission, “To contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer,” education and training are a fundamental part of Moffitt’s core focus. As such, the Moffitt SSO Breast Fellowship is a priority to the institution and the breast faculty, with an emphasis on fellow education over service.
Protected time for fellow wellness is built into the monthly rotation schedule and various wellness programs are offered through the center.
