Dr. Sadegh Marzban

Congratulations to Dr. Sadegh Marzban, a postdoctoral fellow under the mentorship of Dr. Jeffrey West, Integrated Mathematical Oncology Department and Cancer Biology and Evolution Program, on a first-author paper published in Nature Genetics entitled, “Modeling the evolutionary dynamics of clonal hematopoiesis.”

The research paper explores the current evidence on Clonal hematopoiesis (CH) dynamics in humans, compares mathematical models used to predict CH progression, assesses the validity of model assumptions and discusses the implications for clinical management of individuals with these precursor conditions.

In addition, Dr. Marzban was a co-first author on a paper published in January in Cancer Research Communications. This publication is entitled “Cell State Transitions Drive the Evolution of Disease Progression in B-Lymphoblastic Leukemia.”
