- Ovarian cancer screening – Although there is currently no method of screening that is able to reliably detect ovarian cancer in its earliest stages, tests such as a rectovaginal pelvic examination and transvaginal ultrasound may help to detect this malignancy.
- Diagnostic testing – For women who are experiencing symptoms of ovarian cancer, Moffitt physicians may conduct a physical examination, imaging tests or blood tests to detect the presence of ovarian cancer.
- Ovarian cancer treatment – At Moffitt’s ovarian cancer center, a combination of surgery and chemotherapy are most often used to treat women with ovarian cancer.
- Supportive care services – Moffitt patients have access to dietitians, social workers, counselors and a number of other supportive care professionals in the same location where they are undergoing cancer treatment.
Women from Brandon, FL, who receive ovarian cancer treatment at Moffitt may also have the opportunity to participate in our robust clinical trials program, where they can benefit from the latest breakthroughs in ovarian cancer treatment before they are made available elsewhere.
